A Bournemouth secondary school teacher will begin a cycle ride of more than 3 and half thousand miles across Canada next week.
32 year old John Dwyer, who teaches at Talbot Heath girl’s school, is pedalling from Vancouver right across the Rocky Mountains to raise money for The Rob Gauntlett Trust. Rob died in a climbing accident back in January aged just 21, after conquering Mount Everest when he was 19 year’s old. Speaking to Fire news, John explains why he’s decided to do it:

A school teacher from Bournemouth is taking on The Rocky Mountain’s next week in a mammoth cycle ride across Canada for charity. 32 year old John Dwyer, who teaches at Talbot Heath girl’s school, will spend 8 hours on his bike every day for around 50 to 60 days. All money raised will go towards The Rob Gauntlett Trust – Rob, a friend of John’s, was the youngest British man to scale Mount Everest, and sadly died back in January aged just 21. Speaking to Fire Radio about the cycle challenge, John say’s it should be an interesting trip:

32-year old John Dwyer, who teaches at Talbot Heath girls school will be pedalling from Vancouver to Halifax to raise money for The Rob Gauntlett Trust. Rob died in a climbing accident back in January aged just 21. The money raised will be donated to the trust, and used to support young people in a range of different projects and initiatives - John says he’s raised about 500 pounds so far:
